If you have ever played 8 Ball Billiards, you will surely be familiar with this gameplay, it is similar. When starting the game, there will be 15 balls neatly arranged in a triangle, with the number 8 ball in the middle of the third row. The first ball of the triangle is on the straight line connecting the ballpoint and the middle point of the end rail.
When starting the match, the first player will make a break with a white ball from the semicircle area at the head of the table. For the break to be considered valid, at least one of the following conditions must occur:
If the break is invalid and no ball is pocketed, the opponent has the right to:
Note:
If the 8-ball is pocketed before the player has finished pocketing all of his or her groups of balls, the game is over, and you lose. If the white ball is pocketed along with the 8-ball, it is a foul,l and the opponent is allowed to place the white ball anywhere on the table (ball-in-hand). The 8-ball is re-pocketed.
After a legal break with a pocketed ball (other than the 8-ball), the player who pocketed the ball is assigned the corresponding group of balls (solid or striped). If only solid balls are pocketed in a legal break, the player plays solid balls. If only striped balls are pocketed, the player plays stripes.
If both solid and striped balls are pocketed in a legal break, the player taking the next shot must "call" the group of balls they want to play before taking the shot. If no ball is pocketed after a legal break, the table remains open. The next player may hit any object ball (solid or striped). The group is determined when a player hits a legally called object ball.
Players must identify their group and are only allowed to hit white balls that are in their group. In most cases (except for obvious shots), players must call the object ball they intend to hit and the pocket into which it will be pocketed. If another ball is pocketed or another object ball is pocketed, the turn passes to the opponent.
On a legal shot, if no object ball is pocketed, at least one white ball or object ball must touch the rail after the white ball hits the object ball. Otherwise, it is a foul. If a player pockets a white ball, it is a foul. The opponent is allowed to place the white ball anywhere on the table (ball-in-hand) for the next shot. If any object ball is hit and jumps off the table, it is a foul. It cannot be replaced (except for the 8-ball, depending on the specific rules). The turn passes to the opponent.
The 8-ball may only be played after all the balls in the group have been pocketed.
8-Ball Fouls:
If a player makes a foul when hitting the 8-ball, he loses the game. Pocketing an 8-ball legally into a called pocket after all the balls in his group have been pocketed will win the game.
